HBL PSL 4: Shadab-led Islamabad United Defeat Kings By 7 Wickets

SHARJAH: Shadab Khan, who is the stand-in captain for Islamabad United for injured pacer Sami, managed to get a thumping win against Karachi Kings by seven wickets in the fourth edition of the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2019, courtesy to Luke Ronchi’s master class innings.

United won the toss and opted to field first against Karachi Kings in the 13th match of the Pakistan Super League 2019 at Sharjah Cricket Stadium.

With a mediocre target of 144 runs by the Karachi Kings, Islamabad United got off to a blistering start. Having gone through with run-rate of almost and sometimes above 10.0 in the first ten overs, Kings never stood a chance.

Imad Wasim’s economical spell was unable to get Karachi Kings into a favourable position, let alone win the game.

A Luke Ronchi special – 67 off 35 – was more than enough to see off Karachi in a below-par chase of 144, reaching the target comfortably with 23 balls remaining.
