ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday in the petition against Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry seeking his disqualification over hiding his assets giving time to respondents for submitting reply has adjourned the hearing for three weeks.
Chief Justice Athar Minallah of the IHC heard the petition filed by anchorperson Sami Ibrahim against Fawad Chaudhry.
The CJ IHC remarked that political cases damage the credibility of the court.
Raising objection to Sami Ibrahim petition contended that” Sami Ibrahim conducted two programs in which he highlighted that IHC has approved the petition against me (Fawad Chaudhry) adding that Sami Ibrahim also conducted more programs against me.” and ” prayed that I wanted to face the case” while he also requested the court to dispose of the case by imposing fine so that black mailing could be avoided.
Chief Justice Athar Minallah said that doing program on the such cases were inappropriate and parliament should conduct its accountability itself.
The court directing the respondents to submit replies adjourned the hearing for three weeks.
