Karachi (October 7, 2017): Mayor Karachi Waseem Akhtar on Saturday declared emergency in Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) hospitals after Met Office warned of heat wave in the port city.
The Met Office has forecast that temperature would shoot up to 40 degree centigrade on Saturday, warning of heat wave in the city.

Following the forecast, Mayor Karachi swing into action asking the management of KMC-run hospitals to activate heatstroke management centres immediately.
Declaring emergency in city hospital, the Mayor had directed the management of the hospital to take all measures for treatment of citizens affected by rise in mercury.
He added that the citizen can rush to city government hospital in case of heatstroke. He also appealed to K-Electric to ensure uninterrupted power supply in the city.
