KARACHI: Electrocution and other rain-related accidents in yesterday heavy rains claimed eight lives in Karachi with this tally of deaths in the last three days of rain reached 22.
Some areas of the metropolis saw heavy rains and some witnessed light rains yesterday while Surjani Town reported the highest rain 30 mm followed by North Karachi 23 mm.

The electric system of K-electric once again suspended during the rains as the electricity was out of the town for many hours in Malir, Khokharapar, Shah Faisal Colony, Bahadarabad, Delhi-Mercantile society and many other areas of the city.

Humidity and intensified heat of summer made people of the city restless while the K-electric claimed that electricity was restored immediately in the rain-affected areas.

The K-electric spokesman said that in some areas the restoration of electricity faced difficulties due to water accumulation in heavy rains.
