High Treason Case: Special Court Sends Questionnaire To Musharraf

ISLAMABAD: The Special Court constituted to try former President Pervez Musharraf in the high treason case over breaching the Constitution on Monday has sent a questionnaire to record his statement.

According to details, a questionnaire comprised of 26 questions including the November 2007 emergency.

The special court in its questionnaire has asked Musharraf to tell about the steps taken to impose emergency in the country was his individual decision?

The court also asked: “Do you want to produce any evidence in your defence?”

Earlier on May 2, a special court accepted former president General (R) Pervez Musharraf’s plea to postpone the hearing of a treason trial against him owing to his poor health.

A three-member bench of the SC headed by Justice Tahira Safdar adjourned the case’s hearing till June 12, after Musharraf’s counsel Barrister Salman Safdar requested the court that his client is unable to travel to Pakistan due to his poor health.
