ISLAMABAD: The current chief justice of Pakistan “Justice Mian Saqib Nisar” is stepping down from his prestigious post on January 17. The most senior judge of the Apex court “Justice Asif Saeed Khosa” will take the charge as 26th Cheif Justice of Pakistan replacing Justice Saqib Nisar.
Some description about the life of Cheif Justice Saqib Nisar:
The 25th Cheif Justice Mian Saqib Nisar was born in Lahore on 18 January 1954. He passed his matriculation from Cathedral school. He completed his bachelors from govt. college Lahore in 1977, and passed his LLB in 1980 from Punjab University.
Justice Saqib Nisar started his career as a lawyer on May 2, in 1980. Afterwards, in 1982 he became the lawyer of Lahore high court and in 1994 the lawyer of the supreme court.
Mian Saqib Nisar have also worked as secretary federal law minister in 1997, and as a teacher in Punjab law college and Pakistan college of law.
He was elected as judge of Lahore high court in 1998 and took charge as the judge of the supreme court in 2010.
Being the most senior judge, justice Saqib Nisar took charge as chief justice of Pakistan on 31st December 2016.
After two years and seventeen days, on January 17 he is going to step down from his responsibilities. The next chief justice Asif Saeed Khosa will take the charge as 26th chief justice of Pakistan.
