Hijazi Likely to be Indicted in Record Tempering Case Today

Islamabad (October 4, 2017): An Accountability Court likely to indict Zafar Hijazi, the former chairman of Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP), in Chaudhry Sugar Mills record tampering case today.

Special Judge Irum Niazi will resume hearing Chaudhry Sugar Mills record tampering case today.

Copies of challan had been provided to the accused on previous hearing. Hijazi is the prime suspect in the record tampering case.

The Federal Investigation Agency took Hijazi into custody in July, after a report released by a joint investigation team probing Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his family’s wealth during the Panama Papers case alleged that the former SECP chairman had altered records related to the mills.
