Asia Cup: Hong Kong Bat First Against Pakistan

Web Desk (September 16, 2018): Hong Kong on Sunday after winning the toss against Pakistan choose to bat first in Asia Cup. 

Nizakat Khan and Anshuman Rath opened the Hong Kong innings. For Pakistan  Mohammad Amir opened the bowling attack.

After the 10th over, Hong Kong scored 32 on two wickets. Babar Hayat and Christopher Carter were on the crease. Pakistan’s medium pacer Hasan Ali and Faheem Ashraf took one wicket each.

Earlier, in their bid to lift their third Asia Cup title, Pakistan expected to face stiff competition from the defending champions India, apart from four other Asian rivals – Sri  Lanka, Afghanistan, Hong Kong, and Bangladesh. The men in green will start their campaign against debutant Hong Kong on September 16 and will take on arch-rivals India on September 19.

The Pakistan squad that features in the tournament is blended with both fresh faces and experienced campaigners.In their most recent clash back in 2008 Asia Cup, Pakistan scored 288/9 in their 50 overs after electing to bat first. They then wrapped up Hong Kong for just 133 in the 38th over to win the match by a whopping 155 runs.
