SUKKUR: A huge swarm of locusts on Wednesday morning attacked many areas of Sukkur, sparking fears of large-scale crop devastation in barrage areas.
Many areas of Sukkur have reported the spread of locusts – species of short-horned grasshoppers – which are threating many agricultural crops.
Earlier, a swarm of locusts invaded Khairpur, Muthi, Southern Punjab and Karachi and devoured plants, mature crops and leaves of trees causing heavy losses to the local farming community.
