IDPs restoration to start on March 16: Corps Commander Peshawar

PESHAWAR: Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Mehtab Abbasi and Corps Commander Peshawar Lieutenant General Hidayatur Rehman said that the restoration of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) belonging to Waziristan will be commenced on March 16, 2015 while Khyber Agency IDPs on March 20 and Mir Ali families to be returned on March 31, 2015.

Governor KP and Corps Commander Peshawar were conducted a press conference in Peshawar to announce commencement of IDPs restoration process.

According to the military and political heads, approximately 20 lakhs verified IDPs were currently present whom would be provided food and medical facilities during the restoration process.

Lt. Gen. Hidayatur Rehman said that Operation Zarb-e-Azb was continued against the terrorists and no place will be left for them to hide anywhere in the country.

He admitted the risks for the emergence of Daish but rejected to term it as high-risk problem of the country as Taliban militants were not less than Daish. Governor Mehtab Abbasi said that tribal persons played vital role in war against terrorism.
