ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court (IHC) has accepted a petition against the appointment of two election commission members for hearing while the court has sought reply from Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), law ministry, secretaries of PM, new appointed members of ECP from Sindh and Baluchistan.
The IHC Chief Justice Athar Minullah heard the petition filed by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Mohsin Shahnawaz Ranjha while the court appointed senior lawyers Hamid Khan, Khalid Anwar and Makhdoum Ali Khan as the court assistant.
Chief Justice Athar Minullah in his remarks said that the parliament should solve these issue itself while he asked to the petitioner counsel that if the parliamentary committee could be agreed upon on the issue then what the constitution has solution for it.
The counsel told the court the constitution has silent on the issue after if the parliamentary committee could not solve the issue.
The court adjourning the hearing till October 11 has sought response from ECP, law ministry, secretaries of President and PM, new members of ECP from Sindh and Baluchistan.
