IHC Allows Nawaz To Submit Additional Documents

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court on Wednesday adjourned the hearing of a case pertaining to a plea filed by the former premier Nawaz Sharif seeking to grant him bail on medical grounds till Thursday (tomorrow).

As per details, a two-member bench of the IHC comprising on Justice Amir Farooq and Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kyani heard the case.

As the hearing went underway, Director General (DG) National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Irfan Mangi submitted his apology for the delay despite the notice which was accepted by the court.

In his arguments, Nawaz’s counsel Khawaja Haris has said that the Supreme Court had granted a six weeks bail to the former premier and directed to contact high court upon its expiry.

To which, the court in its remarks told the Nawaz’s counsel that one cannot file another plea after it is rejected by the court. At which Khawaja Haris in his response told the court that the bail petition on medical reasons can be filed again on fresh grounds.

Khwaja Haris in his arguments told that the blood supply of Nawaz’s body is entirely affected as 60 percent of his vessels are facing blockage. The blood vessels supposed to supply the blood to the brain are affected.

He said that he cannot be fully treated by the doctors here within six weeks.

At which, the court accepted the plea of the former premier to submit additional documents in this regard.

On the other hands, the IHC adjourned the hearing of Al-Azizia Reference case till June 27.
