ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court (IHC) was moved on Monday with the plea to direct concerned authorities to stop PTI chief Imran Khan from shutting down Islamabad.

Four citizens namely Tasleem Abbasi, Raja Maqsood Hussain, Faiz Ahmed Cheema and Mohibullah have filed separate petitions in IHC stating that PTI chief Imran Khan was absconder in the PTV Headquarters’ attack case and how an absconder can shut down the federal capital.

Naming Interior Ministry, Chairman Pemra, IGP Islamabad and PTI chairman Imran Khan as respondents, the petitioners submitted that Islamabad police had failed to arrest an absconder.

“Now the absconder is going to shut down Islamabad which will not only cost school going children inn term of their studies but also hurt businesses too,” the petitioners added.

They pleaded the court to direct Chairman Pemra to restrain TV channels from broadcasting interviews of Imran as he is an absconder. They further pleaded the court to restrain Imran Khan from shutting down the city.
