Islamabad:Islamabad High Court (IHC) today (Tuesday) forms a larger bench to hear Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) petition against the verdict of Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) over the prohibited funding case.
The IHC acting Chief Justice Amir Farooq heard the PTI petition against the ECP verdict on the prohibited funding case.
Advocate General Islamabad, President of Bar Shoaib Shaheen appeared before the court.
The Acting CJ apprised that he has made a larger bench for the hearing and the case will be heard tomorrow by the larger bench.
The PTI counsel Anwar Mansoor argued that the accounts which details the PTI provided to the ECP, there is now any mention in the verdict.
Anwar Mansoor further apprised the court that the ECP was informed that the provision of information of some accounts on some reasons not necessary.
He said that some amount has been sent to provincial chiefs of the party from the central accounts.
He insisted the court to stop the ECP to take any action against the PTI.
The IHC CJ remarked that as far as I know it is the first case of this sought after the Wali Khan case. In Wali Khan case, the reference had filed but in this case the reference has not been sent yet.
Justice Amir Farooq said that he will send this case to a larger bench and whenever you say it will be set for hearing.
