As the hearing went underway, the court asked why the petition had not been submitted to the Lahore High Court (LHC).

To this Rafique’s lawyer responded by saying that his client would have been arrested had he approached the LHC bench.      The petitioner’s legal counsel contended that his client was to take part in the by-polls, which will be held on October 14. In response, Justice Farooq said that the court was not responsible for the election.

After initially reserving its verdict, the IHC bench rejected the petition.

Earlier on October 10, Khawaja Saad Rafique approached Islamabad High Court (IHC) for protective bail as National Accountability Bureau (NAB) expedited probe in Paradise City scam.

According to details, Justice Amir Farooq and Justice Mohsin Akhtar will assume hearing on the petition of former railways minister“Unfortunately, Pakistan’s recorded history is full of revenge proceedings. The petitioner [Kh Saad] was served with a call-up notice to which a reply was submitted along with documents. The petitioner has appeared before NAB under personal capacity. The petitioner has neither served as director nor holds shares in Paragon City”, read the petition.
