ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Thursday wrapped up a contempt of court case against Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan over violating a court order regarding axle load.
A single bench of the IHC comprising Justice Mian Gul Hassan Aurangzeb conducted hearing of the petition filed by Advocate Arif Chaudhry against the Special Assistant for commenting on the “axle load policy” in sharp contrast to an order passed by the court.
The court issued a stay order to the government in reply to their notification to suspend the implementation of the axle load regime at M-9 motorway.
Meanwhile, Firdous Ashiq Awan tweeted, “PM has stopped implementation of the axle load regime at M-9 motorway”.
Advocate Arif Chaudhry then filed a petition against Firdous, considering her tweet completely against the decision of the court.
