Srinagar, Indian-Held Kashmir (June 28, 2017): Three Tehreek-e-Hurriyat- Ayaz Akbar, Altaf Ahmad Shah and Raja Merajud Din Kalwal- leaders were arrested last evening in Indian-Held Kashmir. Indian National Investigation Agency had raided the residences of these leaders earlier this month.
According to details Indian police raided the residences of the said leaders and arrested them. Police also raided the residence of another Tehreeke-e-Hurriyat leader Pir Saifullah; however, he was not present there.
Pertinently, NIA teams had raided many places including residential houses in Kashmir and Delhi. Tehreeke-e-Hurriyat confirmed the arrest of the three; however it expressed ignorance about reasons behind their arrest.
Meanwhile, a contingent of Indian police arrested Hurriyat leader, Zafar Akbar Bhat from his residence in Srinagar, today, and shifted him to an unknown destination. Zafar Akbar was released, yesterday after prolonged house detention.
Earlier, Zafar Akbar Butt in a statement had that Hizbul Mujahideen Supreme Commander, Syed Salahudin was pursuing a struggle for right to self-determination guaranteed by the United Nations.
The Peoples Political party in a statement strongly condemned the raids on the house of party head Engineer Hilal War in Srinagar.
