ISLAMABAD: Commander In-chief of the Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC) General (Retd.) Raheel Sharif called on Prime Minister Imran Khan on Tuesday.
Discussions were held on matters of mutual interests and regional situation and ongoing efforts against terrorism.
Raheel Sharif apprised PM Imran Khan regarding objectives of the 41-nation Saudi-led military alliance. He said that IMCTC acknowledged Pakistan’s role to eliminate terrorism. He added that the Islamic military alliance will continue its efforts to uproot terrorism.
Earlier in the day, General (Retd.) Raheel Sharif held meeting with Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi where they discussed matters of mutual interest and regional affairs.
During the meeting, Raheel Sharif apprised Foreign Minister regarding efforts of IMCTC for eliminating terrorism. FM Qureshi praised efforts of the Islamic military alliance.
It is noteworthy to mention here that the military alliance was formed on December 15 – 2015 which was initial consisting of 34 countries but now the number of its members reached to 41.
Former Army Chief General (Retd.) Raheel Sharif was appointed as first commander in-chief of the military alliance formed to eliminate terrorism from the Islamic countries.
