IMPPA member resigns against ban on Pakistani artists

MUMBAI: A member of the Indian Motion Picture Producers Association’s (IMPPA) executive body Rahul Aggarwal has resigned from the Association in protest against its ban on Pakistani actors and artists working in Indian.

It is to be mentioned here that in wake of Uri attack, the IMPPA had passed a resolution banning Pakistani actors and technicians from working in India till the relations between the two nations return to normalcy.

Unhappy with the decision to ban Pakistani artists, the IMPPA member in a letter addressed to the President of the IMPPA stated: “though I condemn the terrorist attack, banning one another is not the solution.”

He stated that “rather than banning one another, we should focus on bringing everyone together and showing the world that terrorism cannot divide these two great nations can and become a beacon for acceptance and hope.”

However, Rahul stated that since the members don’t see his point of view, he takes it as a personal failure and deems himself no longer useful to the organisation and hence tendered his resignation from the executive body of IMPPA.
