ISLAMABAD: The two accused Khalid Shamim and Mohsin Ali arrested on the allegations of murdering Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) senior leader Dr Imran Farooq have backtracked from their confessional statements.
Dr Imran Farooq Murder case took a new twist as two accused of this case Khalid Shamim and Mohsin Ali have backtracked from their statement recorded before the magistrate.
Accused Khalid Shamim appeared before Anti Terrorism Court of Islamabad and said that he was tortured and kept in fear before recording his statement.
Khalid Shamim in his statement said that magistrate recorded his statement on order of Investigation officer and against his will.
Second accused in the case Mohsin Ali also backtracked from his statement and said that he did not give any confessional statement to magistrate and he refused to record statement despite mental and physical torture adding that he complained to magistrate regarding the mental and physical torture as well while magistrate himself signed the already prepared confessional statement and endorsed the stamp on it.
