Imran, Gandapur Have Links with Taliban: Gulalai

Islamabad (November 15, 2017): Former Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) member and MNA Ayesha Gulalai on Wednesday slammed Imran Khan for not speaking against the assault on Dera Ismail Khan girl who was forced to parade naked through the streets of the village. Estranged PTI Leader said that it is common knowledge that party chief Imran Khan and Ali Amin Gandapur have links with the Taliban.

During a press conference in Islamabad, she unleashed a verbal onslaught against Khan and said, “Imran Khan talks about justice but has not given any statement about the affected DI Khan girl even after the passage of 19 days of the incident.”

Gulalai accused Ali Amin Gundapur of taking bribe and being associated to a drug group. She claimed that people belonging to the drugs business sit at Gundapur’s dera whereas he himself take money from patwaris regarding which evidence is also present.“Everyone knows Niazi and Gandapur have links with the Taliban. This is why journalists, DC and others are afraid of them,” she claimed in a press conference.

Gulalai hurled multiple accusations on PTI MNA Gandapur, saying he has links with and patronizes drug users.

“Everyone knew what was detained from his car,” she said in a reference to the incident where alcohol was recovered from his car in 2016.

Gulalai also criticised Imran for “not saying a word” on the DI Khan incident in which a girl was forced to strip and was paraded naked in public by perpetrators allegedly supported by Gandapur.

“Imran talks about justice, he comments about everything under the sun but hasn’t said a word about the incident,” she said.

Gandapur has denied lending any kind of support to the accused and promised to visit the survivor’s family to clear the air and ensure his support after PTI MNA Dawar Khan Kundi had accused Gandapur of backing the accused.

The incident occurred on October 27, when the 16-year-old girl was returning home after fetching water when men surrounded her, stripped her and forcefully made her walk in the locality for an hour as a “punishment” for her brother’s relationship with a woman in the village.

Sajawal, the prime suspect involved in the incident has not been arrested by the police even after more than two weeks of the incident.Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Member National Assembly (MNA) Dawar Khan Kundi said he stands firm on his stance that PTI leader and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Revenue Minister Ali Amin Gandapur is backing the culprits.

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Nighat Orakzai had earlier accused Ali Amin Gandapur of supporting criminals responsible for this heinous act. Orakzai also vowed to stage a sit-in protest outside residence of Gandapur until the victim is given justice.

However, PTI MNA Gandapur has denied the allegations leveled against him and claimed innocence.
