Imran Khan Attends National Assembly Session

Islamabad(May 24, 2018): Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf, Imran Khan on Thursday is attending the session of the National Assembly, he will cast his vote in favour of FATA Merger Bill.

According to the details, a constitutional amendment will be tabled today in the session of NA about the merger of FATA With KPK, Imran Khan is also attending the important session of NA to cast his vote.

Yesterday, Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and other parliamentary leaders agreed on the constitutional amendment draft that will be presented in parliament on Thursday(today).

The meeting was attended by Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Leader of Opposition in Senate Sherry Rehman, Minister of States and Frontier Regions, Abdul Qadir Baloch, Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao, Haji Ghulam Ahmed Bilour and Alhaj Shah Jee Gul.

The special assistant of legal affairs Barrister Zafarullah has tabled the FATA reform bill saying that government had included all proposals in the bill presented by the opposition and also gave its final shape.

Shah Mehmood Qureshi said, on the occasion, that FCR law being demolished and all privileged included in the bill keeping view the wishes of the FATA people.“The government and opposition had decided to not change the number of Senate and NA seats for FATA keeping country’s interest in view,” he clarified.

According to sources, earlier the government allies had a difference of opinion over the issue of FATA reforms.

The coalition partners demanded that their 12 seats should be allotted in the National Assembly, sources said.Parliamentary Leaders Agree on FATA Constitutional BillThe coalition members demanded that when the Internally Displaced People return to their homes, new census should be held.

The Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl and Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party members boycotted the session.
