Imran Khan Slams Nawaz Sharif and Asif Zardari

Islamabad(May  04, 2018): PTI Chairman Imran Khan on Friday vowed to stop illegal use of the laws of the land to achieve political gains, termed case lodged against him under terror act “Illegal”.

Speaking to media after his acquittal in a case of manhandling of then SSP Islamabad (Operations) Asmatullah Junejo during the 2014 sit-in in Islamabad, the PTI chief expressed happiness over being vindicated of terror charges.

The PTI chief slammed Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) Quaid Nawaz Sharif and Pakistan People’s Party co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari for what he said ruining state institutions by using them in pursuit of their objectives.Taking an aim at Sharif, he said his rhetoric showed that he was not in good mental health and claimed that his narrative was benefiting the PTI.

Imran said his party has been planning to stage a power show in Karachi before the advent of the holy month of Ramzan.He hailed the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) for taking action against the rulers while they were in power for the first time.

Earlier today, Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf  Imran Khan was acquitted  in the SSP Asmatullah Junejo attack case from the anti-terrorism court (ATC),  judgment was reserved on April 13.

According to the details, Judge of ATC, Shahrukh Arjumand acquitted Imran Khan from the SSP Asmatullah torture case in his judgement.Imran Khan was present in the court when it announced its verdict on his plea.

The PTI chief filed an application under section 265-K of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC), requesting the court to acquit him in the case for lack of evidence.

During last hearing of the case on April 25, PTI chief did not appear in the court despite summons issued in his name by ATC judge.

When SSP Junejo arrived for the hearing, the court administration informed him that his presence was not required during the hearing.

Junejo expressed surprise, saying he had been asked to reach the court immediately by the legal branch. “I left in the middle of an active investigation,” he added. When questioned, the legal branch stated that no call had been made to the police official.The judge then adjourned the announcement of verdict on Imran’s acquittal plea to May 4.
