India doubtful to participate in Blind Cricket WC

New Delhi (December 6, 2017): Indian participation for the Blind Cricket World Cup 2018 is doubtful which is being hosted by UAE and Pakistan.

The 5th ODI World Cup for the blind will take place in both Dubai and Pakistan as the teams will leave for the latter venue for some of the matches.

Indian sources cited existence of tensions between the arch-rivals for the doubtful participation. The Indian blind cricket team will only tour Pakistan if their government issues permission to send the team.

The Indian team will undergo a month of training in Bangalore before heading to play the World Cup.

Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Australia and South Africa are the other teams lined up in the World Cup for participation. It will be held from January 7 to January 21, next year.

It may be mentioned here that Pakistan has won two Blind Cricket World Cups in 2002 and 2006 while the other two are won by South Africa (1998) and India (2014).
