ISLAMABAD: India, resorting to another coward act, has stopped water of three eastern rivers flowing to Pakistan.
According to Indian media, stoppage of water of easter rivers’ water does not violate the Indus Water Treaty of 1960.
While talking to media on this occasion, Indian Union Minister of State for Water Resources Arjun Mehghwal claimed that water from eastern rivers, which was flowing into Pakistan, has been stopped.
He said, “This water has been stored and could be used for drinking and irrigation purposes”.
However, officials of the commission for Indus Waters, commenting on India’s move to stop water of three eastern rivers from flowing into Pakistan and said, “New Delhi has continuously been involved in water aggression.”
They claimed that India’s Indus Water Commission did not brief Pakistan about their move to stop the flow of water.
