India Urged To Speed Up Process To Hand Over Zainab’s Body

Islamabad (July 03, 2018): Pakistan urged India to accelerate the process to hand over the dead body of a seven years old girl Zainab, who died during heart surgery today in India.

The foreign office spokesperson Dr. Faisal said that Pakistan high commission was looking into the issue and in touch with Indian officials in this connection.He also confirmed the death of Zainab during the heart surgery.

He apprised the media that Pakistan stressed the Indian government to speed the process to hand over the dead body of Zainab to Pakistan.

Expressing condolence over Zainab death, FO spokesperson said that Pakistan equally stands with her parents on this mourning moments.

According to reports, Zainab had three holes in her heart and left-side of her heart was not working. After surgery, she was moved to the intensive care unit (ICU)  for the next 24 hours. But, she lost the battle for her life at 4 am on Tuesday.

The dead body was handed over to the parents, however, the family is now facing trouble in bringing her body back to Pakistan.

Her father blamed authorities in a video message for forcing him to run among various government departments in order to obtain travel documents and appealed High Commission of Pakistan for help in the matter.
