Indian Atrocities In IOK A Challenge For World Conscience: Nawaz

Lahore (April 03): Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has said that Indian forces’ subjecting of innocent Kashmiris in Indian occupied Kashmir (IOK), who have been struggling for their right to self-determination, to brutal torture is a “challenge for the human conscience of the entire world.”

The former premier said that it is obligatory for the United Nations that it make immediate and serious efforts for the implementation of its resolutions while taking notice of these grave violations of human rights.“If these inhumane atrocities continued and the world conscience did not wake up, then it would not only be cruel to the Kashmiris, but the entire humanity.”

Nawaz urged that not only the Pakistani government, but all political parties and the society should rise above divisions and raise their voice against Indian atrocities on Kashmiri people.FM Announces Solidarity Day For Kashmiris on April 6

Earlier, Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs, Khawaja Asif said that India is playing with the blood of innocent Kashmiris and history of Gujrat is being repeated in IOK.

Addressing a presser in Islamabad, Foreign Minister, Khawaja Asif said that India is violating humans rights in occupied Kashmir. Rulers of India are terrorists, that’s why they are carrying out terror activities in Occupied Kashmir.

World should take notice of the human rights violation by India, in Occupied Kashmir, he added. He further said that India is carrying out genocide in IOK, innocents are being badly tortured. India Army martyred Kashmiri Youths.He accused India of state-sponsored terrorism in the occupied valley, and said that the Indian state is “playing holi with the blood of Kashmiris.”

The foreign minister said that the situation at the Line of Control (LoC) is tense due to the Indian government.

He said that the Pakistan’s federal cabinet met on Monday with a one-point agenda: to discuss the plight of Kashmiri people.

Asif said that the cabinet agreed to send delegations to different countries in view of apprising them of human rights abuses in the occupied valley.He said that he discussed Kashmir crisis with the Turkish and Iranian foreign minister, adding that the Muslim nations have openly supported Pakistan’s stance on Kashmir.

Foreign Minister also announced to observe solidarity day for Kashmiris on April 6.

Asif’s statement came a day after the killing of at least 17 Kashmiri youth, including four killed in firing on funeral processions, by the Indian security forces in Islamabad and Shopian districts of the occupied valley.

Earlier, Pakistan premier expressed deep shock and grief over Sunday’s indiscriminate and vicious killings of Kashmiri youth.

PM Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said the brutal crackdown, including the despicable use of pellet guns on civilians who were protesting against the killings, is deplorable.

He emphasised that Indian attempts to label the legitimate Kashmiri struggle as terrorism cannot deter the valiant people of Jammu and Kashmir from their demand of exercising their right to self-determination in accordance with the UN resolutions.Abbasi called on the international community to urge India to allow access to fact-finding missions to occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

Abbasi’s statement was followed by the Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff (COAS) comments that “Indian atrocities in occupied Kashmir can never suppress a just indigenous political struggle for self-determination.”

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan also denounced the violence against innocent Kashmiri people.“Strongly condemn the brutality of Indian forces against innocent Kashmiris and the killing of unarmed civilians in IOK,” Imran wrote on Twitter.

“The people of Pak stand with the Kashmiris democratic struggle for self determination. The UNSC must act against Indian aggression in IOK.”

Jamiat Ulema Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rahman gave a call for protest on Friday against state-sponsored terrorism in Kashmir and Palestine.
