KARACHI: All the merchants and industrialists on Monday rejected the load management proposed by the Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC).
The industrialists, rejecting the load management plan, asserted that meeting exports targets is an impossible task if the gas supply is halted.
They have demanded the government to ensure continuity of the gas supply to industries. The merchants and industrialists have expressed agitation over the proposed plan.
President of the Federation Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Daroo Khan Achakzai has validated that closure of industries due to non-supply of gas will create difficulties to meet the exports target.
On this occasion, Senior Vice President of Federation Chamber Dr Mirza Ikhtiar Baig reminded the government of their vow of excluding winter season from the load management plan.
As per the proposed plan, gas supply will be halted for the industries from Sunday 8 am to Monday 8 am (24 hours closure).
