Inflation Goes Up After Dollar Hits Historic High

KARACHI: The prices of food items and daily-used products have gone up after the increase in the value of the US dollar against the rupee.

The value of the US dollar against the rupee touched an all-time high of Rs150 on Friday by recording an increase of about Rs7 in the open market within a week.

With the spike in the rate of the US dollar, Pakistan’s foreign debt has increased by Rs800 billion with a further rise in inflation being anticipated by analysts.

The public has demanded the government to control inflation during the Holy month of Ramzan and provide some relief to the nation.
