Inquiry Ordered Against Imran for Use of KP Helicopter

Islamabad (February 02, 2018): The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has ordered on Friday the probe against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan for illegally using Khyber Pukhtunkhawa helicopter.

The chairman NAB Justice Retired Javed Iqbal taking the notice of complain against PTI chairman Imran Khan has ordered the Director General (DG) NAB to initiate inquiry.

According to spokesperson NAB, Imran Khan had used two government helicopter for official visits in which he used MI-17 helicopter for 22 hours while an aquarial helicopter for 52 hours.NAB also mentioned that KP Chief Minister Pervez Khattak has also misused the powers.

In November last year, despite persistent criticism of VIP culture by the CM K-P was spotted using his official helicopter to attend a wedding ceremony in Mansehra. According to reports Khattak had to attend the wedding of Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) lawmaker Ibrar Tanoli’s son for which he used the helicopter.In March 2017, K-P government faced embarrassment when the party’s own prospective candidate for PK-62 by-election, Zar Gul Khan used the official helicopter for campaigning in Kohistan.

The K-P government, however, later claimed that the helicopter was instead used by PTI MPA Abdul Haq to visit Kohistan to resolve a serious dispute between people of Gilgit and the locals. Zar Gul Khan, it had said, just accompanied the MPA during the visit.
