Islamabad (July 21, 2018): The Ministry of Interior has issued red notice for former finance minister Ishaq Dar.
According to details red notice issued after the recommendation of National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
“He [Ishaq Dar] is suffering from no such ailment that cannot be treated in Pakistan,” a notification issued by NAB had said.The red warrant is an international notice sent to the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) seeking the arrest and extradition of an individual.
A reference against the former finance minister was filed by the NAB in light of the Supreme Court’s July 28 verdict in the Panama Papers case.Dar had earlier been declared a proclaimed offender by the accountability court due to his continuous absence from the proceedings.
Earlier Interior Ministry approved the issuance of red warrants against former finance minister Ishaq Dar.Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has written a letter to Interpol for the detention of Ishaq Dar while the case has also been forwarded to them after the approval of interior secretary.
FIA has requested the assistance of Interpol in Dar’s arrest from London.
The reference of PML-N leader’s arrest has been sent to Interpol’s secretary general office situated in France.
The details of Dar being declared as absconder, his permanent arrest warrant and asset reference has been attached with the letter.

Earlier on July 05 (Monday), Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Saqib Nisar warned former Finance Minister Ishaq Dar that red warrants will be issued against him and his passport will be revoked for consistently failing to appear before Supreme Court (SC).
The chief justice, heading a three-member bench during a hearing related to Pakistan Television Corporation (PTV) managing director’s (MD) appointment case, inquired about Dar. The CJP was displeased to know that Dar was still in London despite being summoned by the apex court.
The CJP warned that the top court will revoke Dar’s passport for his continuous no-show, local media reported. “We will also consider issuing red warrants for his [Dar’s] arrest.” Justice Nisar adjourned the hearing for a short time after directing interior ministry officials to submit their response regarding Dar.Dar had been summoned to appear before the court pertaining to the appointment of PTV’s MD Attaullah Qasmi. Dar was summoned to record statement regarding the alleged payment of around Rs 270 million to Qasmi during his period at PTV.
Similarly, the former finance minister, who is currently in London, has been absconding in his corruption case since last year. He has been declared a proclaimed offender by an accountability court due to his failure to appear before the court.
After the Panama Papers revelation, the National Accountability Bureau filed a corruption reference against Dar for owing assets beyond his known source of income.
