ISLAMABAD: Interpol against refused to issue red warrant of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) founder Altaf Hussain, saying that the reply submitted by Federal Investigation Agency over its objections was unsatisfactory.
Sources in FIA said that Interpol again refused to issue red warrant of Altaf Hussain.
It is to be mentioned here that the FIA had sent a written request to Interpol for issuance of the red warrant against the MQM founder living in self-exile in London. Interpol had raised objections over the requests to and sought a clarification from the government besides asking for details of the sedition charges against him.
The FIA after consulting Sindh government responded to the objections raised by Interpol. But despite the reply and clarifications of FIA, Interpol again refused to issue red warrant of Hussain.
Sources said that Interpol had termed the FIA reply unsatisfactory, saying that the objections raised by the police were not addressed.
It further said that the case against MQM founder was constituted on the basis of August 22 speech, which seems to be political move.
