RAWALPINDI: Alongside the LNG terminal case, National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has also commenced investigation against former premier Khaqan over alleged non-payment of duty charges on purchase of 34 bulletproof cars.
NAB, in its notice, questioned Khaqan Abbasi for allegedly using the 34 bought luxurious cars for personal use which were originally bought for SAARC Conference.
According to NAB sources, the bought officials cars were used by formerly ousted president Nawaz Sharif and her daughter Maryam Nawaz too.
“34 bulletproof vehicles were bought from Germany without paying duty charges. They were originally bought for guests of SAARC Conference held in 2016. Nawaz Sharif included two out of those 34 cars in his personal car collection”, NAB stated.
NAB sources further stated that Fawad Hasan Fawad and former Foreign Secretary were also questioned today (Tuesday) at the Accountability Watchdogs’ office of Rawalpindi.
