Tehran (May 21, 2017): In response to the to the American sanctions, Iran has imposed economic sanctions on nine United States firms and individuals on Saturday.
Iranian Interior ministry indicated to seize their assets and bank accounts. The ministry said that Iran could block their employees from entering in Iran. Iran on Saturday put nine more US-linked firms, organizations and individuals in the sanctions list.
The first batch of sanctions were announced in March in response to actions of the Trump administration, which sanctioned more than two dozen Iran-linked people and companies in February in retaliation for a ballistic missile test.
The ministry denounced the measures taken by Washington as aimed to undermine the positive effects of the nuclear agreement signed in Vienna in July 2015 between Iran and world powers.
On 13 January, the US imposed sanctions on 13 people and 12 entities in relation to Iran’s ballistic missile programme.
