Iran unveils drone copying US drone it captured 5 years ago

TEHRAN: Iran has unveiled a new drone capable of carrying bombs on the lines of a US drone that it captured some five years ago.

According to state media Iran’s Revolutionary Guard unveiled the new attack drone named  “Saegheh”, Persian for thunderbolt, at an expo yesterday.

According to foreign media the head of the Revolutionary Guards’ aerospace arm, Amir Ali Hajizadeh, said that drone is capable of hitting four targets with smart precision-guided bombs with high accuracy.

The semi-official Iran Tasnim news agency said the drone is similar to the RQ-170 Sentinel spy drone used by the U.S. Iran’s state-run Press TV was quoted as saying the the long-range drone can carry four precision-guided bombs.
