Iranian CGS Calls On COAS General Bajwa At GHQ

Rawalpindi(July 16, 2018): The Iranian Chief of Staff (CGS) of the Armed Forces Major General Dr Mohammad Bagheri on Monday called on the Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa at GHQ. 

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) matters of the mutual interest including regional security, defence cooperation and Pakistan-Iran border management were discussed in the meeting.The COAS also emphasised on the need to further enhance military to military cooperation between the two Armed Forces.

The COAS further added, that enhanced Pakistan-Iran cooperation will have a positive impact on peace and security in the region.The Iranian CGS also pledged to keep working for better relations between the two countries and also condemned the recent terrorist attacks in Pakistan.

Destination of Complete Peace Is Yet To Be Achieved: COAS

Earlier on July 14, Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa admitted that Pakistan had not yet reached its destination of complete peace.

The army chief flew to Quetta and attended funeral prayer of Shaheed Siraj Raisani, met family and visited injured at CMH.

“Expressed his deepest empathy with all bereaved families of the Mastung blast incident. We haven’t yet reached the destination of complete peace but near its achievement,” the army chief said, according to ISPR.
