BAGHDAD: Three suicide bombings on a security check point north of Baghdad killed at least 11 security forces personnel. About 34 other security officers were also wounded in the attack.
According to the spokesman of provincial police force three militants rammed their explosives-laden vehicles early Saturday morning into the main check point near the town of al-Salam at the province’s northern entrance.
The attacks occurred when the local police chief and head of the provincial security committee were visiting the main check point. Both were safe.
Another attack which occurred almost simultaneously involved another group of terrorists on foot attacked another check post near the provincial border. Four policemen were killed and two others were wounded while a terrorist was killed and his other accomplices fled from the spot.
