PESHAWAR: Inspector General Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Nasir Durrani on Saturday said that Islamic States (IS) or Daesh group had no presence in KP and banned outfits were carry out terror terror activities in the name of IS.
Briefing media about the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) actions in the province, IGP KP said that CTD arrested over 1200 terrorist during last two years, out of them 120 were carrying head money.
The top cop said that during 2016 190 incidents of terrorism were reported, which indicates the terrorism graph had came down in the province.
Rejecting the reports about Daesh presence in KP, the IGP said that there was no truth in the reports.
He clarified that Daesh had no presence in the province and the other banned outfits were carrying out activities in the name of Daesh. He added that CTD had arrested many such terrorists.
