Ishaq Dar Removed from Finance Minister Slot: Sources

Islamabad (November 22, 2017): Just after few hours of sick leave letter   to prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, finance minister Ishaq Dar has been removed from finance ministry slot after, sources said.

The PM Shahid Khaqan Abbasi discussed the finance minister Ishaq Dar sick leave letter to former PM Nawaz Sharif and decided to remove him from his slot and hand over it to other person.

According to sources PM house has received the sick leave letter from Ishaq Dar and decided to accepting his leave the slot will be handed over the other person.

Few hours earlier Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, who was under treatment for cardiac illness in London, has requested the Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi for long  sick leave as he could not be perform his duty due to illness and undergoing medical treatment outside the country, sources said.

In a letter to the PM, Dar said that he was not resigning from the office but seeking leaves to take a respite from the affairs of the ministry.

“I am ill and under treatment that bar me to performing my duty, therefore allow me long leave,” he said in his letter.

Accountability court has already declared him absconder in assets beyond means case.

On November 21, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar’s continuous absence from the accountability court hearing a corruption reference against him resulted on Tuesday in the initiation of the process to declare him a proclaimed offender.

According to the details, the accountability court on Tuesday initiated proclamation proceedings against Finance Minister Ishaq Dar while dismissing his application requesting the court to allow him to be represented by a pleader in his absence, as the finance minister yet again failed to appear before the court.

The court ordered to initiate proclamation proceedings and complete it in 10 days, reducing time from 30 days, directing NAB to submit a report on December 4.
