The theme of the conference is “the challenges of terrorism and inter-regional connectivity”.

Speakers of regional stakeholders including Afghanistan, China, Iran, Pakistan, Russian Federation and Turkey will participate along with their respective parliamentary delegations.

Addressing the conference hosted by Secretariat of National Assembly Ayaz Sadiq said that over two million people have lost lives to terrorism across the world and has cost Pakistan a loss of $ 120 billion.

Calling narcotics trade a big threat to world as well while non-state actors has also caused extensive damage to border protection and sovereignty of nations, he added.

Addressing the moot Chairman Senate Mian Raza Rabbani said Pakistan is a sovereign state which could not be put on notice by any other country. Pakistan is not dependent of any country including America and has made a historic mistake of accepting Occupied as capital of Israel and history will prove American decision wrong, he added.

The humiliating 128-9 defeat against the decision at the General Council of the United Nations has exposed America’s status as super power, Rabbani said. The US wants to dump the debris of its failure in Afghanistan war on Pakistan, he added. The new US security policy reflects its defeat.
