ISPR Warns Masses Against Fake Threat Alerts

Rawalpindi (July 19, 2018): The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) denied issuing threat alerts for different cities across the country on Thursday.

ISPR, in a press release, said that fake threat were being circulated on the social media. It denied having issued any threat alert.

It said such propaganda is an attempt to create confusion and environment of fear.

The ISPR said that citizens should also watch out on this and any other such attempt through fake calls.

The media wing of the armed forces further stated that any news may be verified or clarified on the ISPR website i.e. ispr.gov.pkISPR Issues Cyber Alert Over Malicious Email

Earlier on May  23, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR)  issued a warning about a “malicious email” being sent using the name of ISPR.

The military’s media wing clarified that “this is a phishing email which has no link to ISPR”. It asked the internet users to delete any email received from “invite@ispr.press” and report it as spam.

“If opened inadvertently please don’t click on any link asking for information to be entered into a form or to unsubscribe,” read the statement issued by ISPR, adding that clicking on any such link can compromise the security of your device.

“ISPR’s official domain name is ispr.gov.pk, there is no other domain,” ISPR said.
