GAZA: Palestinian officials say a ceasefire agreement has been reached with Israel to end a surge of violence in the Gaza Strip and southern Israel that has led to the deaths of at least 23 Palestinians and four Israelis.
A Palestinian official confirmed that a deal was reached, as well a TV station belonging to Hamas.
In two days of fighting, more than 600 rockets were launched at Israel, while the Israeli army struck hundreds of targets in the Strip.
Four Israelis were killed and four were wounded as rockets fell on the south of Israel.
However, Palestinians, including two pregnant women and two infants, were killed in Israeli airstrikes on Gaza.
