Islamabad (July 6, 2017): The meeting of Islamabad of the joint investigation team probing Sharif family’s offshore holdings has started at Federal Judicial Academy (FJA) in Islamabad on Thursday.
Sources said that following the completing recording statements and questioning high profile personalities including Prime Minister Nawaz Shairf and his children, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Shairf and others, the JIT had started preparing its final report.
They said that the final report being prepared by the team will be presented in the Supreme Court on July 10.
They added that the members of the team were reviewing the statements of the high profiles personalities it recorded to prepare its report.
The statement of Prime Minister’s daughter Maryam Nawaz, which she recorded yesterday, was also being reviewed.
The meeting is being presided over by Wajid Zia, head of the team and additional director general of Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).
All the six members of the JIT are participating in the meeting. Earlier, there were reports that the JIT was mulling to go to Qatar to record the statement of Qatari prince, whose letter Sharif family had submitted as an important evidence to prove the money trail of London properties.
However, there is no official word about the visit. The PML-N is also pressing the team to record the statement of the Qatari royal, saying that without recording his statement the JIT report will be incomplete.
On Wednesday many PML-N leaders opened that if the JIT did not record the statement of Qatari prince it would be travesty of justice.
