Islamabad (June 16, 2017): The meeting of the joint investigation team (JIT) probing Prime Minister family’s finances has started at Federal Judicial Academy (FJA).
Sources said that the JIT will be reviewing the statement recorded by the Prime Minister yesterday during his appearance before the team in today’s meeting.

The JIT meeting is being presided over by Wajid Zia, additional director general of Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) who heads the team. All the six members of the JIT are participating in the meeting.
The sources said that the team would also review and scrutinize the documents submitted by the prime minister on Friday.
They added the JIT will also prepare questionnaire for Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif who is scheduled to appear before the Team on Saturday.
It is to be mentioned here that on Thursday Prime Minister appeared before the joint investigation team (JIT) currently seized with investigation into money laundering allegations against him and his family.
This was for the first time in the history of the country that a sitting prime minister appeared before an investigation team probing charges of financial crimes.
The Prime Minister had left for the FJA from Prime Minister’s House as a common citizen, as no protocol staff or vehicle accompanied him. Even security vehicles or staff did not accompany the Prime Minister.
He came to the Academy in three vehicles along with his younger brother Shahbaz Sharif, son Hussain Nawaz, nephew Hamza Shahbaz and son-in-law Capt (retd) Safdar. The Prime Minister was grilled by the JIT for about three hours.
