Islamabad (June 14, 2017): The joint investigation team (JIT) currently seized with investigation into money laundering allegations against Prime Minister and his family has again summoned PPP leader and former Interior Minister Rehman Malik to appear before it on June 23, 2017.
As per detail, the summon was delivered at Islamabad residence of Rehman Malik on Wednesday.
The JIT has asked the former interior minister to bring with him the record of money laundering investigation against Sharif family.
The JIT has asked Malik to appear before it on June 23, Friday, at 2:30 pm at the Federal Judicial Academy.
It is to be mentioned here that Malik was summoned earlier by the JIT. However, Malik could not appear before the team for being outside the country and had requested the team to give another date for appearance.
He had urged the JIT to postpone his appearance for a date after June 19, saying that he would cut short his visit abroad in order to appear before the JIT.
PM Nawaz is appearing before the JIT on Thursday, making him the first incumbent to appear before such a panel, let alone one probing allegations of financial irregularities or fraud against nearly his entire family, going back three generations.
