Journalists rights protection will be ensured: Aurangzeb

ISLAMABAD: State Minister for Information and Broadcast, Maryam Aurangzeb said that she talked to Chief Secretary and Chief minister of Gilgit Baltistan and all the newspapers will be printed from tomorrow, employees salaries are halted due to non payment to newspapers and the payments will be made soon.

State Minister for Information and Broadcast, Maryam Aurangzeb attended freedom of journalism rally. Talking to media on this eve, Maryam Aurangzeb condemned the violence and disregard of media, saying that all issues will be resolved within rules and regulations, adding that she is a part of every forum of journalism; hence the journalists rights will be ensured.

She said that the workers salaries are halted due to non payment of 200 newspapers, hence the payments will be made soon. She said that any demand of Pakistan’s journalist is her demand as well. The journalists will be provided complete protection. Aurangzeb said that she will decide after looking into the whole case, adding that no journalist can be arrested without any case. She further said that the hurdles in newspapers publishing have been removed and all newspaper will start publishing from tomorrow. No one will be allowed to affect on journalists rights.
