JUI-F blocking of Roads Continue On Second Day

ISLAMABAD: Thousands of Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) protesters on Friday continued to block major highways across the country as part of the party’s ‘Plan B’.

According to details, traffic flow remained affected in several parts of the country. Protests in Malakand and Islamabad, Rawalpindi has also been going on since Thursday.

JUI-F’s sit-in has entered the second day on Chungi Number 26 at GT road and people are facing trouble as traffic has partially been suspended.

The protesters set up tents on Ghotki National Highway after it started raining. Traffic is halted on the Indus Highway in Taunsa Sharif and Bannu. Nowshera GT Road has been closed in Hakimabad.

JUI-F workers have closed Shahrah-e-Resham in Mansehra and staged sit-in in Lower Dir at the Pul Chowki Chakdara.

The protests, led by Maulana Fazlur Rehman began with the ‘Azadi March’ on October 27 from Karachi. Thousands of supporters reached Islamabad on October 31, holding a two-week sit-in on the city’s main highway.

On Thursday protesters blocked the Grand Trunk Road between Islamabad and Afghanistan’s capital Kabul, causing lengthy delays. Similar disruptions were reported in Jacobabad, a city in Sindh linking the province with Balochistan and Punjab.
