Jurassic world Rules The Box Office

Web Desk(July 02, 2018): Dinosaurs reigned again over the weekend, with “Jurassic World: The Fallen Kingdom” topping the box office and closing in on $1 billion in global revenue.

“Fallen Kingdom” took in $60 million domestically in its second weekend, raising its total haul to $264.8 million. Worldwide, it’s made $932.4 million so far.

While the sequel has lagged its predecessor, 2015’s “Jurassic World,” in revenue, it’s still a major hit for Comcast Corp.’s CMCSA, +0.55%   Universal Pictures. Walt Disney Co.’s DIS, -0.30%   “Incredibles 2” placed second in its third week, with $45.5 million. It’s grossed $438.8 million domestically, and $647 million worldwide, surpassing the global haul of the original “Incredibles” in 2004.

A pair of newcomers fared better than expected in their opening weekends: The Sony SNE, -0.85%   drug-war drama “Sicario: Day of the Soldado” earned $19 million, while the Lionsgate LGF.A, -0.16%   basketball comedy “Uncle Drew” picked up $15.5 million. “Ocean’s 8,” from AT&T’s T, +0.06%   Warner Bros., rounded out the top five, with $8 million, giving it a four-week domestic total of $114 million.
