London (September 20, 2017): The wife of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and newly elected member National Assembly from NA-120 Kalsoom Nawaz has been shifted to hospital on Wednesday in London for throat cancer surgery third time.
According to details Kalsoom Nawaz has been shifted to hospital and she will undergo throat surgery tomorrow.
Former PM Nawaz Sharif, his sons- Hassan and Hussain- daughter Maryam Nawaz and his husband captain retired Safdar are also present here.
The PML-N leader and her daughter Maryam Nawaz appealed for her health. She in her twitter message appealed that people for prayer of her ailing mother’s health.

This is the third time Kulsoom Nawaz has been admitted to the hospital for surgery related to her throat cancer treatment. The second surgery was in order to take out diseased lymph nodes from her chest. The first surgery was on the side of her neck while the latest surgery will be the most comprehensive yet and doctors decided to conduct the third surgery after she responded well to the first two rounds.
It’s understood that doctors operating on Begum Kulsoom Nawaz are specialists in heart and chest surgery. The family had been pondering to take her to the US for treatment but decided to continue with the team of British doctors as it is progressing well.
Begum Kulsoom had been diagnosed with lymphoma, a cancer of the lymph nodes on the left side of her neck which was confirmed by her daughter Maryam Nawaz.Let it be known that Maryam Nawaz reached London on Monday along with husband Captain (r) Safdar to inquire about the health of Kulsoom Nawaz after successfully running the election campaign of NA-120 by-polls, and tears rolled down her eyes when she met her mother.
Nawaz Sharif congratulated Maryam Nawaz over Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) victory in the by-elections, and appreciated her role.Former PM Nawaz Sharif has said that he will return to Pakistan once the initial treatment of Kulsoom Nawaz is completed.
Chaudhry Muhammad Barjees Tahir, Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan, arrived in London on Wednesday to inquire about the health of Begum Kulsoom Nawaz. Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Ishaq Dar, Khawaja Asif and Zahid Hamid also inquired about her health at Hasan Nawaz’s flat over the weekend.
