34,700 Dog-Bite Cases Reported at Jinnah Hospital

Karachi (December 22, 2017): A staggering 34,700 dog-bite cases were reported at city’s biggest government’s Jinnah hospital last year. The Hospital had a total of 844 beds during the period under discussion.

The startling disclosure is made in Annual Progress Report 2016 of the Hospital which was presented to Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah by the Executive Director of the Hospital Seemi Jamali earlier today.The report, which comprises information about the medical machineries, and other related equipments and hardware as well as the statistics pertaining to patients, also informs that 459,090 patients were brought to the emergency department of the hospital so far this year.In addition, 1,301,005 patients approached the Out Patient Department of the hospital while 27,400 operations were performed during the year.
